Andrew's amazing turtle picture!! Awesome, brother....LOL, she looks like she's doing the eygyption pose.
Our darling Grand Daddy and Nana at their special anniversary dinner! We love you both, so, so much. Happy anniversary!
One Sunday, we ended up taking almost every vehicle on out entire farm to church for logistical reasons, and me and three of my guys were in the sub and we were early (imagine that!) so we stopped by this peach orchard and took a few pictures and enjoyed a little Georgianess...Love you three! Our own personal Bourne.
Two in Blue! (wretchedly cheesy caption, I know...) Magnificent boys.
Moi
Isn't this incredible!? Blow it up if you like...amazing! Dew is breathtaking at times.
This stunning Pea Cock was in a tree nearby...there were oodles of them strutting around these people's yard, and this one was sleeping in (as it was Sunday, of course) and had not come down from his perch.

We got to watch one fly down, and they handle their lengthy tail feathers very elegantly.
This can only mean one thing.

This-The steady eyes of an eager but silent crowd of people gathered tensely around a lone figure seated in a chair. A pencil is clutched tightly in her unrelenting paw, it's effect ending on a scrap of paper. With bated, cautious breaths, the crowd is looking intently at the lengthening figures. The only sound you can hear is that assured scratching of the pencil. And the dryer. And that fly buzzing to your left.
No word is uttered.
After a moment, the hand pauses, trembling slightly, and places the pencil down on the desk with decision. All is silent.
It has been completed.
Slowly, the writer raises her eyes to the awaiting group. Tears start to her eyes from the emotion of this final moment.

"It is-" She begins with difficulty, breathing deeply with feeling.

"The winner is William. Small William."

The crowd erupts into cheers, cards fly everywhere and there is great rejoicing. Young William's only response is a small sideways smile, a grunt, and the humble process of gathering his cards with purpose.
He won five rounds that day.
I love cards!! :) And Mother darling made us all strawberry smoothies, so is was extra charming! Thanks do much, Mummy Love!
Dee and Noah were with us that weekend, and it was marvelous!! We love you, Martha!
"I will watch it until someone lays down a 9. Surly my steady gaze will accomplish much in ridding myself of these 12 loathsome cards."
Rachel and her beautiful boy!
"Wow, Noah. That's a really neat watch, buddy. Thanks for showing it to us."

( ;D I love my Brother in law!! We actually asked to see his incredible watch. Very fascinating.)
Receiving 'tisses from Aunt Beffy, the much favored Auntling. (who was down that weekend too!!)
Ah, I miss them. They are so, so precious together. I love them.
Aunt Darsha shares a bite with Joey Man!
The pose Rachel came up with when I asked her to smile.

"Prefect. Now, look up just a little more. There we go. Hold that there. Man, what a great idea, Rach. I love the nonchalant chic look the upward gaze creates. Very nice..."

(I'm feeling desperately facetious this evening...*evil laugh* :P)Alan taught us all to cut hair one night. Thanks, Charlie!I would just love to know what everyone is thinking in this picture.
Andrew in the garden. Some of the beautiful cabbages Daddy grew. They were delicious.
A normal weekday scene from our kitchen. Essie cakes and Ron were over visiting, the cuties...
"I love you, Georgia soil.
You've been the place of my Daddy
And my Grand Daddy's toil
You were twice watered
With the blood of my forefathers
I love you, Georgia soil."Onion
Well, I just love this picture. I think they're pretty handsome. :) I can hardly get over this shot! I love it.

(Here they are, resting for a bit at an antique show. Excellent job on all that furniture moving, guys... )
I saw this red ladybug on a bright green arugula leaf one day when I was out gathering a salad ("some friends from upstate came down to make a salad" ;) and the colors were so stunning I ran inside and got the camera!

Of course, this is not that same bug. It had vanished by the time I returned, but this one agreed to pose for only a slightly larger sum then the other, so, viola! I now have my picture.

Well, I must bid you farewell!

Much love,

Adeline, for la famille de Morton

Good Morning, dearest Reader!

*above: thanks to google images from a busy blogger. :)*

How are you? I hope well! I was just thinking about you all and wanted to hop on and say a quick 'ello! I hope you're well-we are doing wonderful! The Lord is so good to us, all the time.

Oh, we are deliciously busy and so, so very excited about the weekend! I love the bustle before a gathering. :) I can hardly wait to see those of you who will be here and for what the Lord will show us through His Word and His Saints!

I have my precious list here, and am having the best time scratching off the different things. I LOVE lists!!

Right now, I can hear:

Siamsa playing. That is such a happy song and sounds like the way I feel!! Also the sound of a squeaky fan. :) I love that sound-and screen doors and a front porch swing. :) ) And I can hear the lawn mower!

I smell:

Fresh cut grass.

I see: Our dear computer screen. (obviously, LOL) Humm...the poor dear needs to be cleaned. :)

I feel: the breeze from that fan and from the open windows. And that fabulous feeling of well loved, broken in flip flops on my feetsies! One of the most wonderful inventions of all time in their greatest hour of comfort and glory!

OK-I'm gonna run!! Oodles of jolly stuff to do!

Have a beautiful day!

Happily,

Adeline, for the Mortons

An Apology to Thee

'Ello, gentle readers!!

The reason for our repentance is thus: Since May or June of 2010, we don't think we have responded to a single comment that we've received, not even direct questions. How rude can one get? Completely neglected the very basic principles of southern hospitality, via the internet, of course.

Thing is, we really enjoy your comments. (you've no idea how good it is to hear from you!)

We read each one with delight and interest, and publish the lovely ones right away. But then, we would never get around to going back and replying to them.

Hence we've repented of our breach of etiquette, and, if you had a question, introduced yourself (you good thing! we love it when y'all do that) or were just saying hey, please know that we were so blessed by your note, and will now be endeavoring to send a 'ello back!! If you had a specific question about something, please, please ask again and we will try and leave you an answer. You are too sweet.

Most gratefully yours, dear observers. Thanks for visiting us...!

Adeline

P.S. Oh, yes-a few night ago blogger was down and deleted a few posts recently published, along with their comments. I plan on republishing the posts, but the dear little notes are gone! :( So, If you don't see your comment, that's why. :) Well, all of us kiddos are off to Dairy Queen for a sibling blizzard-of-the-week party! Mums and Daddy~O are delivering CSA bags this afternoon. We may pass them in town. :D The breeze is blowing beautifully today!

P.S.S. *Don't you just love that picture up there? :) I was so pleased with it I thought I'd show it to you. It's a detail shot of an antique secretary (that was in our inventory that we have since sold on ebay-*sniff*) that was in Mama and Daddy's room-the sun light through the cream curtains made for an dreamy reflection on the old wavy glass...This picture makes me think of sturdy mysteriousness...

Pictures on a Sunday Afternoon

Edwin Ogren

Hello, dear friends! Yes, I know this is terribly late...but I loved this old post that I found in drafts so much I had to show you!

These were taken a few weeks before Dorothy got married. All the precious girls in our church took the opportunity to get some pictures all together-and, the Hagens' lake was an ideal spot, so we all came in white, brown, etc., and had a blast posing for an hour...alas, all those are on the D.'s camera. So anyway, when all the brothers saw us getting pictures, they wanted some too, :) so, now, I present to you, a montage of faces and groups-Dorothy and Martha Ann...this is, I think, my very favorite picture of our precious sister!! We miss you, Dee.Martha Ann in Dorothy's earrings...the babies always love to wear her clip-ons whenever she's holding them. :)"Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quite ye like men, be strong."-1 Cor. 16, 13Another shot of Dorothy...
The brothers do a pyramid..."Don't try this at home..."
The masses gather for the show...
John and Edwin :D My brothers are awesome!!Hum. Well, I guess that's one way to catch dragonflies. ;) Serious Expressions #1......and # 2.Candids are delightful...
Our precious parents share a joke in the living room...Ah, what a joy it is to relax together!"Run! Escape, my men, for your play is at photographic stake!"Moi
Two of the dearest girls in the world...
William Cleveland-another favorite of mine. :)

I'm gonna run! I hope you have a simply wonderful afternoon.

Love to all!

Addie Grace
