In awe today...

...once more...of the goodness of God in giving His own Son as the perfect blood sacrifice, to redeem me, and clothe me in His righteousness. He loved me first, yes, even before I loved Him. His love is overwhelming.
And Autumn.

Golden afternoon sunlight streaming through open windows and the sound of children outside.
A quiet house. Supper bubbling. God's help in a mental battle. His strength when we have none. Soft grass.

A Father and his sons gathered in the living room, talking to God, together.
Two of the most beautiful nephews in the world who make your eyes sparkle because you are so in love with them and their tiny, helpless selves. Their newborn cries are like the music of life, and it is breathtaking.

The promptness of a Nikon tech. rep. and the anguish over that camera with an illness when one has had two brand new babies born. And one of the most special weekend retreats I've ever been to with some of the most precious people in the world there. Pictures are not essential elements to beloved memories, I have to remind myself, but love is, and it has been, so real, and so present. That has been what makes it all so incredible.
The love of Christ, and of His Body.

I love John 17, when Jesus knelt in a garden and prayed for you (if you're His) and me. He asked His Father to "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."*

Yes, Lord Jesus.
Sanctify us through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Jesus Christ, the lover of my soul, my delight, and my righteousness.
"For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us." **

Blessed be His name.

I hope you are well today.

His love,

Adeline

*(John 17, 17)
**(Psalm 103, 12 & 11)

P.S. Hopefully I can get my camera fixed soon and shall be back to posting! Love to all...and I can hardly wait for Thanksgiving day!

At last!

Pictures of our two darling babies!!

Kind Observers, I now present to you our two newest grandsons,

William "Liam" Cleveland Morton Jr.,

and:
Byron Zizka Morton

The dear little boys were born 8 days part and now there are two blue bows on their Grand Mama's mail box, telling all who pass by that we are enjoying two fine new grandsons! Y'all, I wish you could just see them and hold them. They are SO, just...ah...adorable.
These two little men are so dear, so loved, and have been so anticipated. They are here at last, safe and healthy, by God's grace. The goodness of Christ is so great. We are so unworthy, and He is so merciful. Bless His name.

Flowers are everywhere! And the blue skies of October are breath taking. Autumn, I love.

The most beautiful of evenings to you.  I hope you are well.

Love!

A precious grandson has arrived!!

A healthy, beautiful little boy was born to Michael and Kressant Thursday night! The Lord is so good. Once more, as is the trend with Kressy's baby-comings, there was quite a crowd downstairs to welcome him into the world and our hearts! :D

Ya'll, this is too much fun-two beautiful grandsons in 8 days!! Blessed be the name of the Lord. Both Mamas did so well and are both doing fabulous!! I can hardly wait to show y'all pictures, but my wretched camera needs to be serviced and C&L's cam. won't download on that poor lap top...experiencing technical difficulties. :)  I shall tell you their gorgeous names when I show you their precious faces. Ohh...and they both have hair!!!

Rejoicing, and giving thanks to our loving, gracious Father,

Aunt Adeline

Cleveland and Lise are the proud and grateful parents of a 9 pound, 1 ounce baby boy!!
Mother and baby are doing great.  The whole farm is a-flutter with excitement.

One of the little cousins said, "We have a baby!!  Come see our baby!" to all the strangers at the nursery window.  We had a pizza and chocolate party in the waiting room, and all the folks rejoiced.
The Kendalls drove down and enjoyed their new grandbaby and nephew.  Isn't family a blessing?

O come, let us sing unto the Lord:  let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms.
For the Lord is a great God and a great King above all gods.
In His hand are the deep places of the earth:  the strength of the hills is His also.
The sea is His, and He made it:  and His hands formed the dry land.

O come, let us worship and bow down:  let us kneel before the Lord our maker.
For He is our God and we are the people  of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand.
                                                                   from Psalm 95

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise:
be thankful unto Him , and bless His name.
For the Lord is good; His mercy  is everlasting;  and His truth endures to all generations.
                                                                      from Psalm 100

Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways.
For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands:  happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house:
thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord.
                                                                          from Psalm 128

Happy day to you, from the Yea!-he's-here-and-we're-so-excited-Mortonclan.

She's doing great and is such a trooper!

The Many Faces of J.W. Morton

Whoa. He is just so awfully cute!!! ("Ee-er-ee-er-ee-er!!" ;D  )

Never has a 13 year old guy smitten so thoroughly his sisters and Mom. Or delighted them  with his...his... well, his...charm. His smile. His humor.

Or blessed them with his love for the Lord.  His clear conscience, and his, through Christ, clean, loving heart.

I love you, Johnny Man!

Lovin's.

Your sister,

Adeline

It's Beautiful

Good morning to you, loveliest of Observers!

Autumn is here, and once again is takes my breath away with it's grace.
The almost cobalt blue skies and incredibly clean breezes that make the leaves rustle, and the nip in the air that smells literally sweet....your heart overflows with joy to God for all of this, and your senses can't help but dance a ballet just stepping outside! I love it!!
I just got off the phone with my sister-oh she's a joy-and I banged on the piano a bit while the breeze came in through the screen door. Last night dearest friends (family, really) came over. Hot stew. Parents all went out to eat, and we kids had a blast. Fresh cookies. Movies. Laughter. A sibling spat. Apologies. Hilarious stories. Twister. Life. Love.
And then this morning, the smell of fresh cut arugula. That's one of the most wonderful fragrances on earth! Mixed with bundles of fresh spring onions and Morning, it is heavenly. Mama's pruning roses and brought in the most gorgeous spray. Edwin put them in a quart jar for Mama and they are so pretty.
A bedroom that doesn't have piles of clutter!! "And all the people rejoiced!" Me and Marf cleaned up and de-junked our room!! It feels like a hotel room now, LOL.
Seeing a 4 generation picture on the wall and missing everybody and loving them to pieces. Look, Spence was just a baby!! The struggle to have a good attitude when the computer doesn't work, or all your pictures are on the broken one...(hence the lack of pictures, by the way!) And time with Mama and Martha this morning. Oh, my Mama!! I am blessed. Oh, and the joy of a soft sweater. That is olive green.

And knowing that your Heavenly Father delivered you because He delights in you. (Psalms 18 is incredible!) Isn't that a miracle, though, the most beautiful knowledge!? My Saviour, my Jesus delights in me! It is overwhelming. I hope you have given yourself to Him, and have been cleansed by His blood.

And I hope your  day is simple.
And full of singing to Jesus. I'm trying to "sing and make melodies in my heart" to the Lord today!! It is amazing.

Love!

Adeline

Family

Here's the whole clan, as of last weekend.  Ah. I just love these people. So much.

And here are all of the Morton siblings! (Look, we're like the top of an M!! Or a  heart, or  valleys with hills!!)
I'm so grateful for the 11 other people in this picture....I just enjoy being with them, SO much. Each personality, each 'look', each height, each set of giftings...It has been (and is) so much fun to grow up with them.
The Marrieds (as we call them) looking adorable!! Alan, Kressant, Lise Marie, Rachel and Noah are simply some of the greatest blessings in our lives. It continues to amaze me every time I watch one of the couples together...they are just inexpressibly...perfect.
The Lord  does all things well.
"Hug hug. Keese keese. Hug hug. Little keese..."     ("Booya!!" :D  )

The Grand Girls
Ahhh!! You just want to-to-uhm-squeeeeze 'dem!!!!
My Mama and Daddy are grandparents!!! To 16 grandbabies!! 13 here and 3 on the way.  What a blessing and a heritage.

The Babies' conversing.... "Mercy, Enoch, darling, stay calm.  It will soon be alright....."

Yes, I know. You're so right, I was just thinking the same thing......... The fact that here before us are the cutest children on earth!!  Presenting.....

"The air was thick with the sniffles of the women present. The chilling evening dew only worsened their hopes of healthful escape.
"Enough!! Enough!! Release me lest I perish!!" cried the weeping damsels as they flailed helplessly in the iron grasps of their relentless captors, their beloved bunnies cast aside in the desperate struggle for freedom. Passies tossed unheeded to the ground. Blankies all forgotten.
"Stay calm, woman. Do you want them to tie us all? Quit your weeping!" Their neighbors whispered through clenched teeth, trembling as they spoke.
A sudden scramble attracted the attention of the mob that had gathered.
"Come! now!! f-follow me!! Cried the brave lad in Bermuda shorts, weeping as he spoke, barely moving on trembling knees as he attempted to make a hasty escape.
"I-I-know the way to safety!"
The few others only stood, knowing their escape was futile. They put on brave smiles, and tried to brush away the tears that threatened to undo them..."

~The Photograph, page 335. (used with permission)
Ah...these little ones are such a great blessing. God is so gracious.
(LOL, They did so good, too, dear little ones. Ah!!! I miss them all looking at these pictures tonight.)
ALL the S'K'Morton children!! (plus 3 grandbabies, too!)

"But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
Bless the Lord, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul."

Psalm 103, 17-22

I bless You, Lord Jesus, and I thank You!! Thank You for your salvation, and for my family, too. I love You.

Love forever, Adeline

Happy Birthday to our Daddy

Happy 60th birthday, dearest Father!!

We love you more then there are words to express, Daddy.
Thank you for the way you truly reflect our Heavenly Father. That likeness has helped us to know Him better. We praise the Lord for this.
Thank you for loving us, providing for us, protecting, teaching, rebuking, comforting and leading us in the way of the Lord, and telling us of His faithfulness and that "I have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor their seed begging bread."
Thank you for singing.
We are so grateful to God for you. You are among our very, very greatest of earthly blessings.

With much love, forever, and grateful hearts,

Your family
